Our studio, our retail shop and our people.

We Have Become Vikings started back with its first logo brand mark by Jason Snell at his dining room studio in Northside, Cincinnati, 2007. After working at a handful of creative agencies, Jason opened up the first WHBV brick and mortar shop on Vine Street in 2012.

Now, moving into 2019, WHBV is positioned to continue to grow and develop on Walnut Street creating digital and print design for both Fortune 100 companies and neighbors. Check out our team and how they are making a difference in design, print and in the neighborhood of Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati.

Jason Snell, Chief Creative

Jason Snell, Founder of We Have Become Vikings, is a designer, illustrator and motion designer. He oversees creative and strategy at WHBV.

After receiving his BFA at the University of Cincinnati, DAAP, Jason worked for over 15 years at different creative agencies in Austin, Cincinnati, Chicago and Seattle and WHBV. He continues to lecture at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, helping out with the Experience Design courses, and serves on the King Studios (King Records) Advisory Board.

Jason has also performed and written with many different musical outfits, both touring and recording projects for a majority of his life. He continues to write, record and even working on various acting and voice over projects.

 
 Philip Valois, Art Director

Philip Valois, Art Director

Philip Valois, Art Director of We Have Become Vikings, is a designer and illustrator from Providence, Rhode Island, living in Cincinnati since 2007.

After graduating with a BA in Design from Northern Kentucky University, Philip’s breath of work experiences include working for heritage and burgeoning action sports brands, fine art galleries, museums, artist estates, and grant foundations.

Philip, a fellow rocker, has been performing and recording music for over 20 years. From the first punk show he booked in his back yard at age 13 to last gig on Friday night, his passion for music has long been a complimentary influence to his visual senses. 

 
 Matt Dorman, Print Manager

Matt Dorman, Print Manager

Matt Dorman, Print Manager of We Have Become Vikings, is making sure every print job is done right with his scrupulous little eyes. Matt is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University’s Fine Art program in printmaking. He has almost a decade of commercial print experience under his belt.

Matt enjoys true crime podcasts, Doritos, frozen pizzas and hulking-out in his shorts while printing.

 
 
 Ava Roberts, Retail Manager

Ava Roberts, Retail Manager

Ava Roberts, Retail Manager at We Have Become Vikings, received her BFA from University of Cincinnati, DAAP. Ava’s experiences range from independent curatorial to antique cataloging not to mention she has a deep understanding and presence in DIY culture.

Ava manages the front of house, administrative duties, fabrication, and social media for We Have Become Vikings.
